Start by mapping what is affected
When more than one fixture slows or gurgles, write down exactly which ones changed and when. The pattern is useful context, but it cannot confirm a shared blockage or identify its location from a distance.
Note whether each drain is merely slow, fully stopped or actively backing up. Describe the rooms separately rather than relying on a general label such as “all the drains.”
Respond safely to a backup
Pause use if wastewater is rising or backing up. Avoid flushing a high toilet, running connected appliances or touching wastewater; keep children and pets clear. For an immediate safety hazard, contact the appropriate emergency or utility service.
A single affected fixture may differ from several fixtures changing together. An on-site assessment is needed before deciding whether symptoms share a cause.
What details should you share?
List each fixture, where water appears, when it began, whether symptoms happen together, any recent clearing attempt and products used. Include the property type and contact method, but do not send access codes or unrelated personal details.
If you rent, note who can authorize access. An enquiry is not a booking; availability and next steps must be confirmed directly.
