Write down the symptom pattern
Record the affected fixture, when the change began, whether it is constant or intermittent, and what was happening when it appeared. Note whether other drains are affected and whether there has been an overflow.
Include previous attempts to clear the drain and any chemical product used. That information can help someone plan safe handling; do not add another product to test the line.
Make access easier only when safe
If an assessment is arranged, move stored items from around the affected fixture or under a sink when it is safe and convenient. Do not open electrical equipment, remove stuck covers or enter standing wastewater to prepare the area.
For rental or shared properties, check who can authorize access and mention any building process. Keep children and pets away from an active backup.
Confirm the details before work
An enquiry does not confirm a visit, provider availability or price. Before any work, confirm the provider, scope, method, limitations, access needs and total cost directly.
Do not send door codes, payment details or unrelated sensitive information in an initial enquiry. Share only the contact and drain details needed for a follow-up.
